1/17/08 – My left hand

Just messing around with color and contrast and definition via color. I prefer messing around to following instruction books.

 

I’ll eventually get back around to the instruction books because I know they provide tools and techniques so that messing around become more effective.

 

Note:  Oh, my goodness, my left hand has been so unattractively condensed horizontally via WordPress.  I’ve been squeezed.  Oh, well. 

1/17/08 – My niece

I drew this from a photo. I don’t think it would be possible for her to stay still long enough for a portrait. Unless she was sleeping. 

 

I continually have to focus on proportion and relationships as I draw. I was so focused on getting the eyes right that I didn’t realize until too late that the right eye should be lower than the left eye. But it came out okay for a first try at a portrait (other than my scary self-portrait).

12/23/07 – Leaf

I’ve been wanting to draw this leaf for a while. I like it.

11/27 – Swan Card

Traveled all day, unpacked some stuff, then sat down to do a drawing. I decided to give Photoshop drawing a go, inspired by others in Drawmo!

11/21 – At the pre-party

I was surprised to realize how much Ronald McDonald is a little scary looking (like most clowns) and how much he resembles the Joker.

If you get up early on Thanksgiving morning and watch TV, you may recognize this drawing.
